Jupiter’s Great Red Spot - This magnificent image is the work of Bjorn Jonsson who reprocessed 1979 Voyager’s data of Jupiter’s Great Red Spot with more recent techniques to obtain that absolutely stunning amount of details.
Amalgamated Dynamics, Inc. creates practical FX and animatronics for THE THING.
This stuff is amazing! The overall detail and creepiness is so impressive. What a fun industry to be in. Unfortunately too many studios are opting for CG these days.
This reminds me of Robert Lang’s origami, and how fascinating his work is. He managed to come up with an algorithm using circle packing theories to be able to print a pattern to fold literally anything you can think of using 1 sheet of paper. Check this shit. His work could have incredible applications, and it makes me think it could possibly reveal something more fundamental about lifeforms and materials.
His work is so serene and beautiful. Watching this documentary always calms me, and makes me want to get out into nature.
